Homeowners' Association President In Hudson County Town Stole Funds: Prosecutors

Prosecutors have arrested a homeowner's association president in one Hudson County town.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ —A Jersey City man was charged with theft by unlawful taking for allegedly misusing funds from a homeowners' association in Union City, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

Eric Li, 39, was charged with one count of the crime after an investigation determined that he "misused funds from a Union City homeowners' association for personal gain while he served as the board’s president," prosecutors said. "The theft occurred between 2017 and 2023 and exceeds $150,000."

He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and released pending his first court appearance, which is tentatively scheduled for Monday, July 15, prosecutors said.
